Dr. Chad Davis
Dr. Davis is a native of Limestone County, Alabama. He was a student in the Athens City School system and graduated from Athens High School in 1992. He accepted a golf scholarship to attend Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee. In 1997 Dr. Davis received the Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a minor in chemistry from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. His study then led to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Pediatric, Low Vision, Ocular Disease, and Hospital rotations were performed in Camden, New Jersey, Roanoke, Virginia, and Columbus, Georgia. The Doctor of Optometry degree was awarded to Dr. Davis in May of 2001 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Davis then returned to Athens and opened Davis Eye Care in October 2001. Dr. Davis is a member of the International Academy of Sports Vision and has a great interest in working with athletes of all sports. He is also a member of the Alabama Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, the AOA Contact Lens and Cornea section, and the AOA Sports Vision Section.
Dr. Heather Sutton
Dr. Heather Thigpen Sutton was born and raised in Florence, Alabama where she attended Brooks High School prior to accepting academic scholarships to the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She graduated UAH Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She continued her studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, where she was an active member of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH), American Optometric Student Association (AOSA), and Beta Sigma Kappa – Optometric Honor Society. She received the Essilor Private Practice Travel Fellowship and a Student Fellowship of the AAO. During her rotations at UAB Eye Care, Callahan Eye Hospital, Huntsville Veterans Affairs, Eye Care Associates Huntsville East, and the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System in Montgomery and Tuskegee, she received training in Pediatrics, Ocular Disease, Primary Care, Low Vision, Geriatrics, and Specialty Contact Lens fitting.
After graduating UAB with honors, Dr. Sutton is glad to return home to provide eye care for the growing North Alabama community as an associate optometrist at Davis Eye Care. In her spare time, Dr. Sutton enjoys traveling, live music, coordinating local philanthropic events, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Latisha Marbuary
It has been Dr. Latisha Marbuary’s lifelong aspiration to be an optometrist. Dr. Marbuary provides comprehensive eye exams for glasses in addition to the latest advances in contacts such as daily disposable and multifocal contact lenses. She treats acute eye emergencies, dry eye and other ocular diseases and prides herself on providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Marbuary is a graduate of the University of Montevallo and the University Of Alabama School Of Optometry. She recently moved to the area in early 2016 with her husband Bryan, and their two sons, Adam and Bryan II. Dr. Marbuary is a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and is active in many community activities while living in the Hoover area. She is excited to get to know the Athens community and become involved in civic organizations.
